Finally tore Ole Mangy down and here is what I found.. I guess this one has seen it's better days. I will have to check out the bottom end now and see what else is damaged. From the looks of it the cam took a good hit too. Guess the blower will be coming off the shelf and going on the new bullet. Working on my Santa's list now......

Coyote, if you've got the pieces I can weld the piston up.

I think I'd spend a little less on computer programs and a little more on some clay.

Thought that .145 thou. would be plenty of clearance. None of the others had any marks. Guess this fall in the category of crap happens. Santa done said that I have been somewhat good so far this year and I might just get a few goodies under my tree..Guess I will find out how good I was....

I knew that there was some real damage when I got home and put some anti freeze into it for the winter and it ran out the dipstick tube as fast as I put it in. Now just seeing that small crack in cylinder I know there is more damage in the bottom end of the cylinder that is into the water jacket. Found several large nickel size pieces of cylinder in the lifter valley. Just can't find where they came from after looking at the top side. Will know more when the pan comes off. Guess I will be having a scrap metal run in my future....

Coyote, careful with the ford digs, seems to me they went home in one piece. Right Roger?

With all them cracks I wouldn't worry about no anti freeze.

That don't look good. You will have plenty of time to get it back together this winter. Do you think you will have it back together for April?
